GEN PRO SHOCKER FOR BPGenerasi Profesional Football Academy or better known as Gen Pro turned giant slayers with a 1-0 win over Group A front runners BP Soccer Academy in the New Straits Times Junior Community Football League played on Saturday at Setia Alam, Shah Alam.Alam Megah based Gen Pro, looking more like the team that finished fourth last year, had two tough matches lined –up for the week. First they took on defending champions Akademi PKNS FC and what a cracker it was. The match was only three minutes old when Gen drew first blood through Raj Kumar but the lead only lasted three minutes as PKNS hotshot Hafizi Iqmal scored to put his team back into the game. The rest of the first half had both teams creating chances but the score remained 1-1. The second half saw PKNS taking a 2-1 lead in the 27th minute when Hafizi found the back of the net with a cool finish. Not to be outdone, Gen Pro only two minutes to silence the PKNS bench when in the 29th minute off a goalmouth melee the ball fell kindly to Gen Pro Muhammad Rafieaddin who blasted the ball home to make it 2-2 and a share of the points. |
